Doctors Appointment
The baby is in a "head down" position. The doctor said she hopes he/she stays that way now, as time gets closer and closer to due date. The thought of the baby with its head down, waiting for delivery makes me excited, but at the same time freaks me out! LOL.... The actual "delivery" part, of course, being the part that freaks me out.
I got my paperwork for my bloodwork and gestational diabetes test.. I go for that this week. I really hope I pass. I have gained 18 pounds!!!! I have 13-14 weeks left, and she said I will gai about a pound a week - that will leave me gaining 31-32lbs during the entire pregnancy. I thought initially she said she only wanted me to gain 20-25 lbs, but she said today "no - 25-35 - so that's perfect". So whatever! LOL... As long as I stay under 40 I am happy. And who am I kidding - it's totally worth it if it goes over 40! I just want a healthy baby! Weight is weight. The important part to me is that the doctor said I am right where she would like me to be, as I didn't have that much extra weight to begin with (Yeah, lady, I beg to differ! haha).
She told me I have to go on some sort of medication starting week 35ish. Because I am prone to some type of bladder infection or something, and they want to avoid a c-section if at all possible. So I will have to find out more about that.
She went over the ultrasound. She says baby is looking perfectly normal, no abnormalities at all, the umbilical cord looks perfect and everything seems fine! She did tell me that I shouldn't be sleeping on my back - but I sleep on my side anyway, so that isn't a problem, and that the pain I am getting in my right rib cage is completely normal! LOL... So that's good I guess..
Anyway, that's all! I now see the doctor every two weeks.

What the heck is going on?
You can access this site (which I am going to put pictures on... I decided to "suck it up") by typing in the address - www.waiting2beblessed.blogspot.com - or by going to our old "picture" site: www.theobfamily.blogspot.com - and you can click on the picture of me - and it will take you here! No more username or password required.
I apologize for some of the older posts.. but I didn't want to loose the photos of the bassinette process (especially the picture of my hands figuruing out how the basket attaches, when BJ couldn't figure it out! - haha - just kidding).
Well, I am 25 weeks and 2 days today.... getting closer and closer to that third trimester. I haven't gained many pounds (I'm not sure how many yet, I will let you know after my doctors appointment on the 24th - ANd I might have just jinxed it - but they were the doctors words) as of my last appointment, but I sure gained a LOT of belly! LOL... I am very afraid to go on the scale on the 24th... Oh well, it's totally worth it and I wouldn't change it for the world. I just want to stay UNDER a 25 lbs gain... ideally! :)
But, baby is continuing to be active... if I put something on my belly now I can SEE it move if she/he is in the mood... BJ gets a real kick out of it (pardon the pun). I am loving being pregnant.. and loving that I only hae 8 MORE WORK DAYS.. and then I get to relax, and focus on getting myself ready for this little one to appear!! They say the baby should be responding to me poking it or sound by now... he/she responds to sound.. but when I poke, it doesn't poke back. It doesn't like that game! I can't say I blame him/her! I mean, if I was asleep - someone poking me doesn't sound like too much fun!
My shower is scheduled for July 13th. After that I will be starting the nursery.. I can't wait! I will be sure to update with lots of photos of both the shower and the nursery process.
They say if the baby was born today, it would have a good chance of survival... I am hoping this baby continues to "bake" for another little while.... like... at LEAST 10 more weeks! hehe.. but it's still nice to read.
Well, we are off to bed.. I have been working on report cards all day, common assessments all evening, and now this website all night. My body is ready for bed.

Some more photos...
For those of you who haven't seen.. I wanted to share some pictures from when we put together our bassinette. This was back about 8 weeks ago... hence my belly looking smaller than it does now.
BJ pulling it out of the box so we can begin!
Hard at work. Dexter is wondering what is going on!
BJ says "If you want pictures of the process.. look up!!" - so I did!
Me figuring out a part of the bassinette that BJ couldn't figure out! hehe.. I had to take a picture!
Taking a break with Dexter
Ready for Baby!
Dexter was NOT happy to be sitting here - in fact, he was afraid!
All done!
And here is me relaxing in our "cheap chair" that we got for the deck.... after all that hard work I needed a break:
And our first baby gate - it is actually installed so that we can begin to train Dexter to stay away from the upstairs bedrooms... We were SHOCKED that he actually went through it - if you knew my dog you would know how amazing it was that he wasn't afraid of it.

update...
I updated my belly shots on our other site: theobfamily.blogspot.com - it's getting big.... still not stretchmarks *knock on wood*! I am realisitc though, and thinking they will eventually come - but I hope they stay away as long as they can! Of course, this baby is worth a million stretch marks to me, but the best of both worlds would be nice.
Baby O'Brien is moving steadily. He or She is a kicker.... The baby is most active after supper... when I am working (on weekdays) I usually lay down and watch Days of Our Lives or Dr. Phil after supper... just to realx and unwind... and that is my time that I feel him/her move the most... it is the most incredible feeling. BJ has felt the baby many times now, and we are even to the point where you can SEE my tummy move when he/she kicks! It's just amazing! They say that after 24 weeks, there is a good chance that the baby will survive... Mind you, baby needs to stay MUCH longer... but it's still nice to read that every day, this baby get a little healthier, and a little more ready to come into this world!
Just wanted to update... I am off to work again... only 9 more work days! :)
